WORKSITE INFORMATION

St. Louis is known as "The Gateway to the West" because of it's historic beginning from which the population of the US migrated westward. The St. Louis Gateway Arch and Museum is the start of the visitors look at the heritage of this great river city, which sits on the banks of the Mississippi. The city has a diverse population and over 79 different neighborhoods which reflect the charm and multi-cultural backgrounds of the residents.

CHWC partners with 4 agencies that provide home repairs, wheelchair ramp repair and maintenance, painting, cleaning and general fix-up for the elderly and low income in the City of St. Louis and surrounding area. Drive time from school to work site ranges from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

We work with one boys and girls club as well as two social service centers, preparing meals, and working for the homeless.

Saint Louis Zoo
St. Louis is blessed with one of the country's best zoos--and it's free. While you're at the zoo, however, there's plenty to explore (the zoo covers more than 90 acres), including Big Cat Country, the Herpetarium, the Bear Pits, the Sea Lion Basin and the new River's Edge exhibits. There's also a gift shop and "adoption" program.
