Due to the streets in
Betsy Layne,
we
can not allow Charter Buses larger
than 28 passengers to attend
camp. Vans are the
preferred means of transportation but smaller buses will
work.
Due to local availability, Priests are strongly encouraged/needed to
attend this camp.
SCHOOL FACTS
Showers
17 and Younger:
Girls: Shower in the gym with individual
shower stalls- approx 8 of them with hot water
Boys: Communal showers in the gym- approx 10 shower heads with hot
water
Adults and Campers(18+):
There is a shower trailer that has divided sides for male and
female. There are 4 to 5 individual
shower stalls on each side. The trailer does have hot water.
This division makes it so there is no separate
shower times for adults and campers.
Program Area
Program area is in an air
conditioned gym.
Sleeping Arrangements
All campers
will be sleeping in air
conditioned classrooms.
WORKSITE INFORMATION

CHWC
with be partnering
with local agencies to provide home repairs, wheelchair
ramp repair and maintenance, painting, cleaning and
general fix-up for the elderly and low income
in Betsy Layne and the
surrounding counties.
There are many projects we will be working on and
many residents we look forward to serving!

FREE DAY ACTIVITIES

Breaks
Interstate Park
Referred as the "Grand Canyon of the South", is one
of two interstate parks in the United States. The Breaks is
the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi River. The Breaks
has many other activities such as: Mountain biking, Hiking -
approximately 25 miles of trails, Fishing in Laurel Lake
and, Horseback rides.

Lexington, KY - 133mi (2.5 hours)
Lexington is home to two historic horse racing tracks as
well as over 100 different parks. Also in Lexington is the
University of Kentucky. Mammoth Cave National Park is nearby
Lexington as well.
Charleston, WV - 137mi (2.5 hours)
There are several
white water rafting options in Charleston. There are many
hiking trails and campgrounds. Kanawha State Forest is very
close to Charleston.
